Youth Football Numbering #1

The DVYFL has mandated that all teams will comply with the Jersey number rules as written in the High School rule book and wants the CCFOA to enforce this rule. However, once a game goes to a running clock the winning team may allow their players to play out of position in regard to jersey numbers.

Youth Football Numbering #2 -- Misunderstanding

In an e-mail to the CCFOA membership the following was quoted from a DVYFL communique which was included with the above: “...Another issue that needs addressing, under no circumstances are players to trade jerseys during the course of a game. This makes accurate minimum play monitoring impossible.” This was misconstrued by some officials as they took this to mean that we were to monitor their rule - not so. This is strictly a DVYFL internal enforcement issue and not ours.

Youth Football Snack Bar
There have recent reports of CCFOA individuals demanding food and drink at Youth snack bars. This is against CCFOA policy. We may ask for any snack bar item available for sale but must offer to pay as well. Moreover, most snack bar personnel (if not all) will gladly “comp” us and no remuneration will ordinarily be accepted.

In some instances volunteer snack bar workers are not aware of usual practices and will refuse to provide complimentary edibles or liquids. In those cases be polite and never demand anything.

Get off the Field

Following games, get off the field and avoid any confrontations with any angry , emotional, resentful, provoked or bitter coaches, players and/or fans.

The following items were left off from a previous text of two weeks ago

Ratings
Peer rating forms will be mailed after the season is completed with explicit instructions for completion and a due date.

Time Outs
In the federation rules overtime proccedures all unused time outs are carried over (10 yds in method) from seris to series as utilized in the DFAL and EBAL. The DVAL employs the NCAA system (25 yds in method) and timeouts are not carried over from period to period.

Keep Coaches off the Field
It is not appropriate for coaches to be on the field during or between plays. It is our responsibility to keep the field cleared of coaches.
