April 2002

C.C.F.O.A.,

I want to thank the association for the very generous gift to my children. We were completely overwhelmed at the unexpected gift.

After much thought, the kids have decided to put the money toward their music and sports interests. Matt purchased a trombone. He already plays the trumpet in the high school jazz band, and has been wanting to learn a second instrument. He definitely inherited his dad's musical talent. Katrina has been wanting to go Stanford summer soccer camp to enhance her soccer skills. We will use this generous donation to send her this summer. Daniel just turned 5 years old & will be starting baseball this spring. So, this will help with the sports equipment.

We miss Ron every single day. I sometimes wonder how I will get through each new week without him. But, Ron left a legacy of strong spiritual children, & we help each other get through this very difficult time. This fall was particularly difficult, seeing all the football games & the officials. We felt yet another pain in our hearts knowing we would no longer wave to Ron as he went off to football.

Ron always loved officiating & he always took his commitment to the association seriously. But I know he also thought it was great fun.

Again, thank you for your thoughtfulness & generous gift. the children & I will always remember the C.C.F.O.A. fondly.

Laurice, Matt, Katrina & Daniel Strickland

To ensure that we maintain the highest quality officials, we solicit your help in recruiting new members. If you know of a prospective new member, please provide Dan Leary with the person's name, telephone number, address, and e-mail address, Dan wll place them on the mailing list.
