2001 Clinic
This year the C.C.F.O.A. began a vigorous pre-season new officials training program. With the help of veteran C.C.F.O.A. Officials Don Scott, Dan Leary, Ryan McKeon, Steve Corrigan, Tony Ghisletta, Mark Piccolotti, John Jenkins, Larry Proctor, John Cattolico, George Bevan, Gene Vigil, Mike MacArthur, John Nardi, Brett Marshall, Bill Brown, Kevin Coley, Rick Medeiros, Chuck Remlinger, Orrin Cross and Barry McGraw. The training program consisted of two Saturday clinics. The first clinic with the help of the East County Lions Midget football team and their coach Troy Amate, consisted of basic on / off mechanics, positioning, and scripted plays that the football team ran to show a variety of legal and illegal formations. The second clinic was an on field actual scrimmage between East County and Deer Valley. Each new official was shadowed by a veteran C.C.F.O.A. member for the purpose of individualized training.
